Red Light District Dining Room & Social House opens it’s doors tonight to the public for the first time & we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved making this project memorable for DBRDS.
Thank you to Sean & Nancy Shoja & family for allowing us to collaborate with you on your vision for this new Dining Room & Social House in San Diego. From day one this was an exciting process to work so closely on your ideas to design them into a reality. We are thrilled with the relationship that we have built with you & the passion you have brought to this venture. We sincerely appreciate you also having faith in us to work with you not only on the interior design of the space, but also on the marketing material! We love the passion you brought into your logo idea & that you allowed us to create a menu layout & graphic design for your restaurant. Thank you.
Thank you to Contractor Alan Loghman of Pacific Design & Construction & his always entertaining crew for your efforts throughout construction. Your patience with the rest of the team as the project evolved was amazing. The mid-construction BBQ we all put on was a huge blast too! Thank you to Salehi & Salehi Engineers for your assistance on the MEP design, to KPFF for your preliminary structural review of the historic structure & to Jun Martin for your structural input throughout the design. We really enjoy working with you all!
A huge thank you to Lorena Cordova from the CCDC who worked with us on the approvals for the restaurant…you are a little rock star my friend. Thank you also to Jimmy Parker & the Gaslamp Quarter Association for your support of the project…we look forward to much more work in the Gaslamp as its home to our office too!
Thank you Photographer Jon Tiffin & right hand man Chris Wood – it was a pleasure working with you both on the photo shoot for our ‘vintage inspired photos’. Both absolute professionals, you guided me through my first time at ‘Art Directing’ the shoot and you captured some really stunning photography for the both the main restaurant image behind the bar & the di-bond metal black & white prints in the Dining Room & Lounge spaces. I am continually inspired by your passion for photography & I look forward to working with you again, even through the multiple 12hr sessions we did to get it ready!
Thank you to all the models (you know who you are) for being open to participate – I think all the images are really beautiful & you should be super proud of your involvement! Huge thank you also to Jessica Rose DeLee of RoseRags for your awesome styling of the ladies, to Aimee Beltran & Jules Marques for your make-up artistry!!!
Thank you to Holli Everett of ‘Holli & Co.‘ for an amazing effort in providing 1,000 fabric samples for us & Sean to review, select, change, re-review, reselect, and change again. We enjoyed working with you & truly appreciated finding solutions to meet the budgets for fabrics & furnitures throughout the space. Your coordination with the following contractors was fantastic – Maxwell Fabrics, Mariaflora Fabrics, Marlin Designs Furniture, Andrew Morgan Furniture & Brimar Trim. Thank you all.
Thanks also to Pete Evans (a fellow Aussie!) of ‘Bedrosians‘ for your time & assistance to select our floor tiling! We think the tile looks great in the Herringbone pattern we designed – blurs the line between old-world & contemporary flooring…love it!
Thanks to Massimo Venelli from Tutto Marmo – the Brazilian Supernova stone for the Bar top is killer! You have a really unique selection my friend!
Thanks to Tim Jackson & his team at Urban Lighting in Gaslamp for assisting with the lighting selections & sourcing – you guys rock!
Thank you to Marc Aguilera & the whole team (Jay, Janise, Willie, and everyone else!) at Reprohaus! You guys rock & really came through from the di-bond metal prints, to the menus & soap box stickers! Marc’s passion to find the right products & to go above & beyond to solve challenges was superb.
To Jim Espinoza from Creative Vision – man, you make being creative fun! You truly are the go to guy for thinking outside the box & finding unique & creative solutions to ‘print & install’ jobs. Thanks also to the install crew from Level One Art Installers for coordinating the di-bond panels.
Thank you to Darren Bradley Photography for the final interior photos, it was fun to work with you & see how you visualize the space through your lens.
Finally to Executive Chef Jason Maitland, Chef de Cuisine Neil Guillen, General Manager Jeffrey Bloom, Bar Manager Nick Majersky & Ralph Marcarelli – we wish you all the very best in making this a success & we look forward to being regulars in the Red Light District Dining Room & Social House.
Pauly & Ivan @ DBRDS.
